Darlington (aka Star Struck) is a registered C.S.H.A. gelding that was sired by Diamant and out of the Affluent Farms mare, Milka (Mattgold). He is doing amateur owner hunter classes with his owner and excelling.

Dilemma
Diamant x Bonny
Affluent Farms showed Dilemma as a youngster in the C.S.H.A. shows at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and then in the cup classes when he was a three year old. Roy and Sue Fish trained him as a three year old and helped him qualify for the Royal, along with his full brother, Dash. Dilemma and Dash were in the top ten in both cup classes. Dilemma went on to Liz Steacie for some dressage training and was then sold to a young lady in Quebec and gelded.

Magna
Magna was sired by Loki’s Fire (Thoroughbred) x Magnitude (C.S.H.A.)
Magna is now called Donovan by his owner, Rachel Baresich. These two achieved a Reserve Championship at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave in September, 2019 in the adult low hunter division (2’9”). Rachel has only had Donovan for a couple of years so is achieving great things in a very short time but, like all horses from Affluent Farms, he has a great temperament along with his athleticism. These two also have a wonderful coach, Debbie McFadden.

Gratitude
Gratitude was shown at the Royal as a yearling but only began his show career under saddle in 2019 with Carly Wulf. This gelding is presently receiving training from Claudia (Frauchiger) Johnston of Hidden Valley Farm near Stayner. It is hoped that he will find a home with a rider that will take him to the top levels of dressage or 3-day eventing at which he is destined to compete.
Gratitude’s sire was the two-time world champion dressage horse, Gauguin de Lully, born in Switzerland but of Swedish Warmblood breeding. Vicki had hoped to repeat the bloodlines of Rigaletto (Reipo) and that is as close as she could get using Gauguin de Lully. Gratitude did take strongly after his dam in some respects but “Tude” has Lombard and Lortzing in her sire, Ginsberg’s pedigree. It is a known fact that the R.C.M.P. has brought over some of the best dressage bloodlines in Germany to produce the mounts for the Musical Ride. Gratitude is a grandson of our R.C.M.P. broodmare, Bonny. She was 75% Thoroughbred and 25% Clydesdale. Gratitude went to only his second dressage show (summer 2019) and came home with a championship in the basic dressage. Due to weather conditions, he didn’t attend his first Essa hunter show as planned on Sept. 22nd but some video is posted to show how versatile this young horse is.

Don’t Mind Me
As a yearling, “Stache” has shown extreme intelligence and a very sweet temperament. Like his sire, Dannebrog, he is more refined in his physical appearance with a kind eye and beautiful face. As he trots and canters around his paddock, it is breathtaking to watch. Since his grandsire has won an Olympic Bronze medal in 2008 at Beijing (Don Schufro) and was listed 9th in the Rolex WBFSH Top 10 Dressage sire rankings, we hope that Don’t Mind Me will have a bright future. The Blue Hors stable is an equine breeding facility producing some of the best dressage horses in the world, but how could they not? Dannebrog’s dam, St. Pr. St. Byzantina hails from an impressive line of State Premium mares from the renowned Cassette dam line, producers of Gribaldi (sire of Totilas), Karon (sire of Caprimond) and many more. Dannebrog did his 300 day stallion test in Germany so was ridden cross country, jumping and dressage. You may see a clip of his cross country jumping on Pangaea Farm’s website as David Burke imported Dannebrog to Canada and has stood him since 2017. Don’t Mind Me’s dam, Milka is by a Pangaea Farm stallion, Mattgold that David Burke also imported to his farm. Mattgold won Grand Champion Stallion at the C.N.E. in 1994. His pedigree speaks for itself. On both sides of “Stache’s” pedigree he has temperament and ridability with superb movement and athleticism for all Olympic disciplines.

Dash
This beautiful gelding is the result of breeding Bonny to Diamant, formerly of Charlot Farms in Stratford. Dash showed at the Royal as a three year old under Roy and Sue Fish of Twinholm Stable and was in the top ten in both the Governor’s Cup and the Lieutenant Governor General’s Cup classes. He is Vicki’s riding horse and is an example of what Affluent Farms has striven to produce.
